News!

LoriLopez_C1.png

All across America, high school art students were challenged to compete in the seventh annual Lucerne  Art of Dairy Contest.  The theme this year is "Red, White and Moo; Celebrating American Ingenuity" This theme was designed to challenge student artists to feed off of America's ingenuity and showcase their own creativity.

Olympian High School art students entered their designs into the competition last November and we now have a finalist!  Congratulations to junior art student, Lori Lopez who has been chosen as one of the nine nationwide finalists for the  Lucerne Art of Dairy Contest, she will be representing the state of California (Region B).

Her design, which she titled "Don't cry over spilled milk!", is based on the work of Roy Lichtenstein ( American pop artist), was chosen out of 9,267 entries from across the nation, so this is truly a huge accomplishment and Lori is super excited!  The nine finalists designs were judged on the following criteria: Originality: 30%, Technical Ability: 30% and Relevance to the "Red, White, & Moo™" theme: 40%.

LoriLopez_C2_.pngLori received her life sized cow sculpture and set out to paint her design which took a lot of time, hard work and determination!

This will mark the third year in a row that an Olympian High art student is a finalist in the Lucerne art of dairy contest. Olympian High School is really proud of their art students and their accomplishments.

This year the Lucerne company has decided to let the public decide who wins the top three prizes and on  April 16th voting will open up to everyone to cast their vote via email or text message.  Please make sure that you support your fellow eagle and take a moment to cast your vote for Lori Lopez!

Remember you can start voting on April 16th, 2012 for Lori's cow at:
