Current Projects

Proposition O projects:

Proposition O was passed by the voters in 2006 and will provide $644 million for renovation of all schools in the district. Phase 1 will combine $180 million with $35 million in state funding to renovate the first 9 schools. See buildingpropo.com for more info.

Proposition BB Projects:

With the addition of more than $147 million in state matching funds bringing renovation funds up to $334.6 million, the planning department completed 22 separate projects at 19 schools. For an overview of all modernization projects, please go to Proposition BB.

Recent Accomplishments:

Completed construction of Maida Stanovik Torres Performing Arts Center at San Ysidro High School in 2008.
New artificial turf football fields installed at: Otay Ranch High in 2003, Olympian High and San Ysidro High in 2006, and at Eastlake High in 2008.
Opened Olympian High School in August 2006.
Completed Phase 1A and 1B, and the Multi Purpose Building at Chula Vista Middle School in 2004.
Opened Eastlake Middle School in July 2003.
Opened Otay Ranch High School in July 2003.
Opened San Ysidro High School in July 2002.
Completed construction of new gymnasium facilities at Mar Vista High School and Sweetwater High Schools in 2002.
