Health & Safety Fair

Healthfair '07

Health and  Safety Fair  is offered each Spring semester. Professionals from the community come and present  on specific  topics that affect teens.  Students also give back to the community by donating blood to the San Diego Blood Bank that day. Staff and students cooperate using this information throughout the year to keep our site safe and drug free.

Peer Mediation Club

Peer Mediation Participants

Peer Mediation is a club of trained mediators who are involved in creating a peaceful campus.  The training includes an overnight retreat as well as a four-week class that covers communication skills, anger management and the process of mediation.  Once trained, mediators work with students in conflict and help them to create peaceful solutions to their problems.  Throughout the year, mediators give presentations to Palomar students in the area of conflict resolution.

Re-Connecting Youth Class

Students

Reconnecting Youth is a class designed to help kids invest in themselves, their community, their education and their future. The focus is on taking control of themselves academically and emotionally, while building a sense of accountability for their choices, their attendance, and their future.  We gear kids up for leadership positions like ASB, Peer Mediation and the Navy Program by building a sense of responsibility and confidence through group dynamics and positive peer pressure.
