Easy Access with Deadly Consequences

Abuse of prescription drugs among teens is on the rise. Parents are invited to learn about the scope of the problem in a presentation by the San Diego Sheriff's Narcotics Task Force at Olympian High School.

The District Attorney has warned that OxyContin is highly addictive and has become a gateway drug leading to use of heroin. More and more, the DA says, kids as young as 12 turn to their parents' medicine cabinet and try prescription drugs.

On November 16, prescription drug abuse will be the focus of a drug task force presentation at 7pm at Olympian High School, 1925 Magdalena Ave., Chula Vista.
