Sweetwater Budget Update
Dear Sweetwater Community:
As the Board of Trustees continues to work towards balancing the budget for the 2012-2013 school year, we will be sharing information about both issues specific to Sweetwater as well as issues that relate to the State of California education funding.
Due to deep cuts and ongoing deferrals in state funding, the reality is that our expenses will exceed our revenues. Great uncertainty remains about state revenues and the potential passage of a tax measure on the November ballot. What we do know is that the best case scenario will result in flat funding for education, meaning no additional dollars to cover staffing or programs.
We invite you to check this website regularly for new information about budget proposals, board actions and the district budget outlook on this webpage. And, we welcome your comments or suggestions. Please provide us your feedback via the budget feedback blog.
